The Scottish Mountain Bike Awards have grown from the first ever event held in Aviemore in 2016, which attracted over 150 guests to the sold-out events, attracting over 200 people, each year since.

Scotland is widely recognised as a global leader in mountain biking and with the Scottish Mountain Bike Awards, it takes the opportunity to highlight and celebrate all those that contribute towards making Scottish mountain biking world-class.

The awards have grown in stature across the industry. FreeFlow Technologies was there as an event partner. With two days of media rides ahead of the conference/show on the Thursday and Friday, the team took the chance to share with press and Industry experts its technology through presentations and rides.

Ahead of these days FreeFlow technologies was shortlisted for the “Scottish MTB Product of the Year for Innovation” for its patented FF60 mid-drive ebike motor that they sell to the global bicycle industry.

With four other strong products to contend against FreeFlow Managing Director, David Hemming was proud to collect the winner’s award from Professor Geraint Florida-James of Napier Edinburgh University.

“What a great honour this is to be recognised by our industry piers as a leading innovation brand, we’re very much looking forward to the months and years ahead as our product visibility ramps up in cycle shops around the world” – David Hemming, Managing Director

The FreeFlow FF60 Ebike Motor

FreeFlow Technologies has developed a compact, lightweight mid drive ebike motor solution. Within its design it has registered several patents worldwide.

Its system package allows a brand to develop the frame quicker, install the system easier and build both bike shop and end consumer confidence around the system’s longevity because it can be serviced in any bike shop in the world.

Added design benefits in FreeFlow’s manifesto make the system disappear into the ebike design and achieve a more normal looking bike. Ride characteristics also give a normal ride like feel as the FF60 system’s main drive components are not engaged when the system goes past the legal cut off speed.
